Feeling Lost After Moving Abroad?

It's fun but also chaotic

You miss your old life more then you thought you would. And while you feel very grateful for the opportunity, you also cry a lot because you feel lost and confused on how to feel like you belong.

It's a bit lonely

Your partner has work, structure, colleagues - while your days feel repetitive.

And although you promised to keep in touch with your friends and family, the time difference makes it harder than expected.

Second Guessing

You may be wondering, if moving was a mistake – not only for the kids, but also for you.

Your brain won’t stop running scenarios: Moving back home, try a different country?

Identity shifts

You sometimes wonder where YOU went in all of this... marriage, motherhood and career.

You might feel a bit stuck and question, is this it? What am I supposed to do here?

Marriage, motherhood and career - relocation changes more than your address

As you grow, your marriage may need to grow with you. For many women, their 30s and 40s bring a shift - old dynamics no longer fit, and often we re-evaluate our needs within marriage or even wonder how to continue the relationship.

Becoming a mother is one of the most profound identity shifts a woman goes through - there’s even a word for it: matrescence.
You maybe feel stretched between love and grief, especially without your village.

You may have stepped away from your career - but the desire to create, to realise your potential and build something meaningful remains. As an expat it’s often not clear how to express that wish - work visas, childcare and time lines can make things difficult.

Add menopause to the mix - and it makes sense why especially expat women seek support.

How do you want to spend the next 10 years?

When you know this chapter might only last a few years, long-term clarity becomes even more important.

Why is expat life different?

The challenge is creating a sense of continuity in a life that is transient.

Woman journaling to gain clarity and make plans

When you live internationally, everything shifts. Your home. Your routines. Your children’s school. Your friendships. Even the timeline in your mind - because somewhere you know that this chapter may only last a few years.

You build a life while knowing it might dissolve again. Over time, that constant movement can unsettle your sense of direction and purpose. That’s why my work is about helping you build something within yourself that travels with you.

Together we establish a sense of clarity and purpose that holds across cities, relationships and life stages. Something that grounds you in you.

We find ways to make this new place your home and express your purpose in a way that aligns with your circumstances and goals.

I love seeing women build unconventional lifes -

and I’d love to support you in building yours.

Hi, I am Franziska

Franziska Teo, Swiss licensed psychotherapist and life coach for expat women in Singapore

I am a Swiss licensed psychotherapist, life coach and mother of two small kids.

I have worked with clients for 10+ years and offer online sessions for value-led women who are ready for their next chapter.

As an expat mother, I can relate…

Two years ago I left my safe - but admittedly lonely - life in Switzerland to create something more aligned and exciting. So our family moved to Johor Bahru to join my Malaysian husband’s family.

I deeply understand what it means to question who you are becoming in the middle of motherhood, marriage and relocation. And believe me I still struggle some days.

That’s why I love supporting women in creating a life that feels aligned with their purpose.

You don’t have to choose between a spacious life and the desire to feel deeply rooted.

Both can co-exist.

What we can work through

  • Feeling stuck after a career break

  • Questioning your purpose

  • The difficulties of being “the trailing spouse”

  • Anxiety and emotional burden of moving abroad

  • Identity shifts after motherhood

  • Marriage tensions that surface during transitions

  • The sense that you’ve outgrown your old life, but don’t know what’s next
